New job with my master thesis
The subject of my master’s thesis is now defined, and my master’s thesis is already registered, so I can already see the finish line to graduate.
I am working on a prototype of a smart charging solution, which has a dynamic cost attribution and involves feedback from the distribution network operator and the electricity provider. Another point that is very new to charging solutions is the possibility to issue a reservation that starts in the future. The addition “starts in the future” seems weird, but currently it is sometimes possible to issue a reservation, which results in the charging station being blocked from now on until you arrive there.
This might not be needed for now, as the average daily charging sessions are less than 1 per station, but this will probably change in the future.
The master thesis is called “Konzeptionierung und Implementierung eines energiemarkt- und verteilnetzgekoppelten Ladesäulenmanagementsystems” and it is written at the NOWUM-Energy institute of the FH-Aachen
I also have the privilege to have a job at this institute, so I can get a few paid hours a week working at this project. But of course, the writing of the thesis is currently more than a full-time job. But I am very eager with my master’s thesis and am really looking forward to the final results coming this September.
So there will be a new challenge starting in September, but it’s currently not clear what’s the next adventure I will dive into after finishing my study at the university.
